Is shredded paper recyclable??

You can recycle shredded paper by placing it in a paper bag labeled "Shredded Paper", closing with a staple, and placing it in your recycling bin or one of our recycling drop-off locations. Doing this helps our staff pull the paper off the sorting line and prevents the small shreds from contaminating other recyclables. 

The Waste Commission of Scott County does not provide document shredding services and recommends purchasing a home shredder, contacting an office supply store, or watching for community shred events.
